By car: Enter “Nördliches Schlossrondell” into your navigation system. Free public parking is available there.
Public transport:
• Bus 51 or 151 to “Botanischer Garten”
• Tram 17 to “Schloss Nymphenburg”
From there, it’s only a few minutes’ walk — signposts will guide you directly to the Palmenhaus.
How long is the walk from the parking area?
Approximately 7 minutes through the Nymphenburg Palace Park.
Is parking available nearby?
Yes. Free public parking is available at both the Northern and Southern Schlossrondell.
A dedicated parking area for buses is located at the Southern Schlossrondell.
Is the Palmenhaus barrier-free?
Yes. Both the building and the terrace are fully accessible.
An accessible restroom is located at the main entrance of the castle.
Are there restrooms and baby-changing facilities?
Yes — separate restrooms for women and men, each equipped with baby-changing tables.
Guests of the Milchhäusl may use these during opening hours.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs are welcome — please keep them on a leash, both inside the grounds and throughout the palace park.

In the heart of the Nymphenburg Palace Park, accessible via the palace’s main gate.

What are the opening hours of the Palmenhaus?
Thursday & Friday: 11:00–18:00 (Nov–Jan until 17:30)
Saturday, Sunday & public holidays: 10:00–18:00 (Nov–Jan until 17:30)
Monday–Wednesday: reserved for private events
Winter closure: 7 January to end of February
Milchhäusl: open daily (weather permitting)
Is the Palmenhaus open on public holidays?
Yes — except on 23 & 24 December.
Open on 25 & 26 December and on New Year’s Eve (until 16:00).

Pick-up with special access permit is available.
What does the Milchhäusl offer?
Snacks, tarte flambée, pizza, salads, ice cream, cakes and hot & cold drinks — open daily when the weather is good.

What types of events can be hosted at the Palmenhaus?
Weddings, birthdays, baptisms, corporate events, conferences, memorial services and photo shoots — during the day or in the evening.
How does the event booking process work?
Simply send us an inquiry with your occasion and preferred date.
We consult with you, plan the event together, and personally accompany you up to the event day.
How large is the Palmenhaus?
• Indoor: approx. 300 guests
• Terrace: up to 400 guests (depending on seating & weather)
What equipment is available?
Tables, chairs, table linen, candy cart, backdrop, sound system, microphones, projector & screen.
Decorations exclusively via Blumen Adler Nymphenburg, technical equipment via LiveCo München.
How long may events continue?
• Indoors: until 03:00
• Outdoors: until 22:00 (music at low volume)
Fireworks, torches and open flames are prohibited in the palace park.
Is there a bad-weather alternative?
Yes — final decision possible by 9:00 on the day of the event.
Can the Palmenhaus be rented exclusively?
Yes — for private or corporate events with personalized support.

Is there an entrance fee for the palace park?
No, entry is free.
How far are the nearby sights?
• Gondola station: 3 minutes on foot
• Botanical Garden: 5 minutes on foot
May I play or picnic on the lawns?
No — the lawns are protected as part of the historical monument.

Yes — especially:

Does the Palmenhaus have an ice rink?
Yes — bookable from mid-November, also for evening events.
Is there a mulled wine hut?
Yes — from late November with seasonal snacks and drinks.
Also available for exclusive bookings.
Is the Palmenhaus heated in winter?
Yes. Despite the vaulted ceiling and glass façade, the interior remains pleasantly warm.
In summer, fans ensure a fresh breeze.
Is there a Christmas tree inside the Palmenhaus?
Yes — festive decorations begin about 10 days before Advent.
Family-Friendly
Are children welcome?
Absolutely!
Highchairs, baby-changing tables and space for strollers are available.
For events with more than 10 children, we recommend childcare (e.g., kids-in-munich.de).
Can I breastfeed at the Palmenhaus?
Yes — simply ask our service team, and we will guide you to a quiet space.
Working at the Palmenhaus
How can I join the team?
Send us your application by email — we are always happy to welcome new “Palmenhaus Angels” in service, kitchen, bar or event management.
Are internships or holiday jobs available?
Yes — during Bavarian school holidays (except carnival week) and as internships in service, kitchen or event organization.
Photography, Drones & Regulations
May I take photos?
Yes — for private use, as long as no guests or events are disturbed.
Photography inside the palace itself is not permitted.
Are drones allowed?
No — the entire area is under environmental and cultural heritage protection.
May I ride a bicycle or drive up to the Palmenhaus?
No — only with special permission (e.g., for guests with reduced mobility).
